About The Position

The Pharmacy Delivery Driver brings customers’ prescriptions directly to them safely, on time, and in a professional, friendly manner. The role represents Hy-Vee in customers’ homes and communities and supports a positive customer experience. Drivers work throughout their shifts delivering prescriptions, maintaining the delivery vehicle, protecting confidential medical information, and assisting with other store needs as assigned. Training is provided.

Requirements

Valid driver's license with no DOT restrictions.
Must be at least 18 years old to drive a company vehicle.
Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with customers in a friendly, professional manner.
Ability to identify problems and independently develop and execute solutions.
Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
Ability to use discretion when handling confidential patient information.
Ability to frequently stand and walk while loading, transporting, and delivering pharmacy orders.
Ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards.
Ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning and sanitation duties.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, friendly customer service, greet customers, learn their names, and make each interaction positive.
Deliver pharmacy customers’ prescriptions to specified locations in a timely and professional manner.
Enter and exit the delivery vehicle repeatedly and navigate staircases and varied terrain to reach delivery destinations.
Maintain the cleanliness of the delivery vehicle inside and out.
Facilitate delivery vehicle maintenance and upkeep and promptly report issues.
Protect the confidentiality of customers’ private medical information in accordance with HIPAA.
Work with co-workers as a team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Assist in other store areas as needed and take on special projects as assigned.
Follow personal hygiene and dress standards, Hy-Vee policies, and store guidelines.
Report to work as scheduled and on time.
