About The Position

The Pharmacy Compounding Technician Level III is accountable for those pharmacy services which require skill and training, including assisting in the preparation and distribution of compounded medication and prefilled syringes; and performing those duties of the I.V. Technician as assigned. Essential Job Duties Performs sterile compounding and maintains sterility with knowledge and utilization of ‘first air’, ‘critical sites’, and ‘direct compounding area.’ Prepares accurate and precise compounded medication in accordance with applicable master formulation records and compounding records while complying with all USP 797/800 Guidelines and Pentec Health policies and procedures at all times. Receives, Transports, Compounds, Labels, and Ships HD meds in accordance with Pentec Health policy and procedure. Cleans and maintains Biological Safety Cabinet and Negative pressure cleanroom areas. Stocks the cleanrooms with compounding supplies, medication, and additives. Documents all calibration, cleaning, and compounding in accordance with Pentec Health policy. Checks the compounded medication for clarity and no presence of particulate matter. Compounds chemotherapy medication while maintaining sterility. Interacts and communicates effectively and positively with staff, supervisor and manager on a daily basis. Other job duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 12 months experience compounding hazardous drugs.
  • Use of IV admixture equipment required.
  • Demonstrated consistent dependability in attendance, punctuality, and schedule adherence
  • Ability to interact ad communicate effectively and positively with staff, supervisor and manager on a daily basis.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures as outlined by management, USP guidelines, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Observes proper aseptic technique at all times.
  • Adheres to sterile gowning and garbing procedures when working in classified areas.
