About The Position

Pharmasave #451 Gimli is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join their team in Gimli, Manitoba. This role involves supporting pharmacists and technicians in patient care, handling prescriptions, managing inventory, performing clerical tasks, and assisting with daily pharmacy operations. The store operates Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Neighbourly Pharmacy is Canada's largest network of community pharmacies, focused on patient care and community service.

Requirements

• Previous Pharmacy Assistant experience in a retail pharmacy with a preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business is preferred.
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software, Kroll is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
