Purpose The Distribution Coordinator/ Pharmacy Assistant will assist with packaging and shipping of the drugs, supplies, and patient information according to company policies, procedures, and state board of pharmacy regulations. Requirements

  • Typically requires 1+ years of related experience.
  • HS diploma required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in shipping and receiving preferred but not required
  • Excellent customer service skills including Ability to listen and interpret people’s dispositions
  • Ability to perform under pressure
  • Capacity for compassion regarding all patients.
  • Experience with inventory management
  • Fundamental knowledge of computers including the ability to create and manipulate MS Word and MS Excel documents
  • Excellent time management & organizational skills
  • Flexible multi-task-oriented worker
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Engage and interact with other team members daily to complete our daily mission

Responsibilities

  • Prepares medications for shipment to ensure integrity, sterility, and stability of drugs and supplies.
  • Electronically tracks shipments to confirm on-time delivery throughout the day, Monday – Saturday, until all packages are delivered.
  • Follow all designated checklists supplied with an attention to detail.
  • Coordinates the dissemination of information to patients (regarding holiday closings and unscheduled closings) via package inserts as approved by manager.
  • Reviews shipping manifests daily to confirm delivery address and delivery times.
  • Works closely with Pharmacy team regarding start dates, demographic information, and alternate shipping addresses.
  • Reconciles carrier invoices with shipping manifest for accuracy in billing.
  • Provides weekly shipping abstracts and usage reports to supervisor.
  • Resets shipping room at the end of each day (prepare for the next business day)
  • Maintain and keep clean the packing area and distribution area by sweeping and moping as needed.
  • Handles discarding of trash and breaking down cardboard and placing in appropriate trach bins to help maintain a clean work environment.
  • Assist with unloading daily inbound trucks, stage packages for pick up for all carriers. This may include stagging packed shipments on carts or pallets.
