About The Position

Sandstone Pharmacies Airdrie is looking for a part-time Pharmacy Assistant to join their team. This role involves supporting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care, managing prescription entry and packaging, handling inventory, performing clerical tasks, and assisting with daily pharmacy operations. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, within the store's operating schedule of 16 to 20 hours per week.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy with a preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business is preferred.
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
• Proficiency with Kroll, along with a high level of accuracy and efficiency in prescription data entry, is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
