About The Position

Right Dose Pharmacy, a member of the Guardian family of pharmacies, is hiring a Pharmacy Assistant in Ankeny, Iowa. The role assists with general pharmacy duties and may provide support in different pharmacy positions as needed. Duties include filling medications in the correct packaging according to home preference, accurately and on time. The assistant helps keep prescription orders moving through the pharmacy workflow and prepares medications and related materials for delivery. The scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with work every fourth weekend: Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The position requires an eight-hour shift and flexible hours; pharmacy operating hours may change based on business needs. Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Advanced computer skills.

Responsibilities

Assist in filling medication orders.
Prioritize work to ensure prescriptions are filled according to the delivery schedule.
Pull labels at regular intervals to keep workflow moving.
Sort and scan orders into the correct totes.
Monitor the delivery dashboard to ensure prescriptions due on the next run have been scanned and all workflow steps are complete.
Check each tote to ensure its manifest accurately reflects its contents.
Return medications to shelves routinely throughout the day.
Assist with the quarterly physical inventory process.
Communicate issues to the Director, Pharmacy Operations in a timely manner.
Serve as backup fill technician or cycle stager as directed by management and business needs.
Use appropriate auxiliary labels when needed.
Assist other packing line technicians when appropriate.
Arrange delivery totes according to the appropriate routes.
Sort checked medications into route-specific groups.
Prepare delivery manifests for supplemental medications when necessary.
Place delivery manifests, supplemental medications, and drug monographs into the correct totes.
Prepare controlled medications for delivery by placing them into bags as directed.
Keep the scanning area clean and orderly, with supplies, totes, and medications arranged logically.
Perform other essential functions and duties as assigned.
