About The Position

Ochsner Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture/partnership/affiliation with Select Medical, is seeking a per diem pharmacist in New Orleans, Louisiana. The hospital provides inpatient rehabilitation for individuals with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. The role provides clinical support for the hospital pharmacy function in a fast-paced environment. Compensation is $68.00 per hour. The position is per diem/PRN as needed.

Requirements

• Successful completion of all educational requirements mandated for state licensure.
• Current state licensure required.
• BLS certification if required by the state.

Nice To Haves

• PharmD, or BS Pharm plus an advanced degree, or completion of a hospital pharmacy residency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a working knowledge of all areas of pharmaceutical services, including drug distribution systems, central operations, and IV admixture.
• Provide clinical support for the hospital pharmacy function in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain adequate drug supplies in the pharmacy at all times.
• Correctly inform and instruct patients on drugs to be used after discharge.
• Develop and participate in new employee training and education programs.
• Participate in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promote an environment of continuous quality improvement.
