About The Position

The Pharmacist fulfills customers’ prescription needs while ensuring the accuracy of every prescription, providing patient counseling and pharmaceutical care, and administering vaccines as needed. The role helps create an outstanding customer experience and supports associates in delivering excellent service. It is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, professional pharmacy environment and for meeting department sales, profit, quality assurance, and expense goals. The Pharmacist monitors pharmacy operations and helps schedule and staff technicians to meet business needs. The position ensures compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws, including HIPAA, and with company policies and pharmacy standards. It oversees inventory, records, security, equipment, sanitation, pricing, returns, budgets, recalls, and other pharmacy operations. The Pharmacist maintains professional conduct and appearance, develops knowledge of the trade area and its customers, and continues to broaden personal pharmacy knowledge and skills. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.
Current state pharmacist licensure in good standing.
Ability to handle stressful situations.
Knowledge of basic math, including counting, addition, and subtraction.
Effective oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

One year of retail experience.
Ability to speak, read, and/or write a second language.

Responsibilities

Fulfill customers’ prescription needs with a focus on the accuracy of every prescription filled.
Administer vaccines as needed.
Provide patient counseling and pharmaceutical care to customers.
Ensure the pharmacy complies with local, state, and federal laws, including HIPAA.
Maintain a professional image through personal appearance, conduct, attitude, and the physical condition of the pharmacy; follow pharmacy standards and enforce company dress standards.
Develop thorough knowledge of the trade area, its customers, and its competition.
Promote a positive pharmacy department image through strong service, friendliness, and cooperation with customers, associates, and outside vendors.
Monitor stock replenishment, inventory levels, policies and procedures, record keeping, security, sanitation, scheduling, equipment operation, pricing, planograms, returns, budgets, management reports, and product recalls in accordance with company policy.
Maintain proper records, inventory, and security for scheduled drugs, including controlled substances and narcotics.
Follow procedures for handling pharmacy products from authorized sources.
Ensure accuracy tools, including the accuracy scanner and 24-hour post-dispensing audit report, are used appropriately.
Establish and maintain records required for legal compliance, company and accounting policies, and requested reports.
Keep the work area clean, neat, sanitary, and organized, including counters, shelves, floors, and the customer counter.
Ensure product returns are handled promptly and according to company policy.
Maintain equipment, including computers, printers, accuracy scanners, and cash registers, in working condition.
Maintain and organize policy manuals, reference books, state laws, and required equipment, and verify staff know how to use them.
Maintain required signage, including store hours, counseling and services signs, pharmacists’ photographs and names, and other requested signs.
Make a strong and continuous effort to broaden personal knowledge and pharmacy skills.
