Pharmacist - Inpatient
About The Position
The Pharmacist – Inpatient position is based in Salina, Kansas, and is a full-time role with rotating afternoon shifts from 12:00 PM to 10:30 PM and every other weekend. On-call work may be required. The posting describes emergency department clinical pharmacy duties, including providing direct pharmaceutical care through medication selection, dosing, monitoring, and education. The pharmacist develops and implements ED-specific medication protocols and quality initiatives, responds to emergencies, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to improve care in urgent and emergent situations. The role also contributes to clinical education and hospital-wide patient safety efforts.
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited program.
- Kansas pharmacist license or eligibility for licensure.
Nice To Haves
- Clinical or hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.
- Residency training is preferred.
- Emergency Department experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct pharmaceutical care, including medication selection, dosing, monitoring, and education.
- Lead the development and implementation of ED-specific medication protocols and quality initiatives.
- Participate in emergency responses, including code blue, trauma, and stroke alerts.
- Serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students and residents and contribute to clinical education and practice.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve outcomes in urgent and emergent care scenarios.
- Participate on medical staff and hospital-wide committees to support patient safety and care excellence.
