About The Position

This is a full-time, day-shift Pharmacist position at Pickerington Methodist Hospital, with occasional evenings. The pharmacist performs medication dispensing and compounding, prescription interpretation, patient counseling, drug-therapy management, and drug-utilization activities. The role requires independent work as well as collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other health-care practitioners to provide safe, high-quality, and cost-effective drug therapy. Pharmacists may administer medications as permitted by state law and the practice setting, and serve as preceptors for pharmacy students and residents in their area of training and expertise. The position requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in pharmacy, sound judgment in solving complex problems, and the ability to work with minimal guidance. The pharmacist may lead small projects, support colleagues with less experience, and explain difficult or sensitive information to patients and families while working to build consensus. Responsibilities vary across acute care/infusion, ambulatory care/population health, retail, and medication safety, stewardship, and utilization practice areas. The role is expected to follow OhioHealth Service Excellence Standards of Behavior and Core Values of Compassion, Excellence, Inclusion, Integrity, and Stewardship, and to demonstrate high-reliability principles focused on safe, effective care. The job profile is an overview and may change; it is not an exhaustive list of duties.
