About The Position

The Outpatient Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of medications while delivering exceptional patient care and customer service. This role provides direct patient counseling, collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, and supports regulatory compliance and operational excellence within the outpatient pharmacy setting. This position may require flexible scheduling and hours based on operational needs.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or higher degree required
Minimum of one (1) year of relevant pharmacist experience
Current unrestricted Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification from the American Heart Association
Knowledge of outpatient pharmacy operations and medication dispensing processes
Understanding of insurance verification, prior authorization, and third-party billing processes
Knowledge of outpatient pharmacy dispensing software and electronic health record systems
Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety and regulatory compliance
Effective communication and patient counseling skills
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills

Nice To Haves

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy preferred
Minimum of two (2) years of retail or outpatient pharmacy experience preferred
Immunization administration certification
