This position reports to the Manager, Pharmacy Operations. The pharmacy intern must be enrolled in a Pharmacy degree from an accredited Pharmacy School and be licensed as a pharmacy intern in the State they practice. Serve as an active member of the pharmacy team. Assist with ensuring the availability and delivery of medications to authorized locations/personnel, maintain in-date inventory of medications, prepare and repackage medications accurately, record and charge supplies/medications to the correct patient/location. Pharmacy interns may assist with clinical monitoring, medication reconciliation, and process improvement projects under the supervision of a pharmacist. Build and enhance professional relationships with all departments, staff, and patients. Communicate effectively to promote clinical initiatives, provide patient care and education, and promote pharmacy initiatives. The pharmacy intern will provide pharmaceutical care for patients of all ages: from infancy through geriatric. Maintain a professional presence throughout the hospital. Assure pharmacy services and activities are carried out to meet goals and standards of the hospital.
