About The Position

The Pharmacist verifies prescription orders for completeness, legality, and appropriateness. Check for potential drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications. The Pharmacist ensures accurate preparation, labeling, and distribution of medications. Verify patient understanding and provide supplemental written instructions when necessary. Ensure adherence to federal, state, and institutional pharmacy regulations. Provide clear instructions on medication use, potential side effects, and precautions. Manage pharmaceutical supplies following established protocols. The Pharmacist assists with order organization and performs patient pill counts at the pharmacy window when necessary.

Requirements

• Must have a degree from a school of pharmacy approved by a state-accrediting agency.
• Must have inpatient and outpatient pharmaceutical experience.
• Shall possess a current, active, unrestricted license from any of the United States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or the District of Columbia.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of 6 months of prior Indian Health Service pharmacy experience is highly preferred.
