About The Position

House Rx is looking for a Clinical Pharmacist with specialty experience to serve as the PIC supporting their customer site in Lufkin, TX. This is an onsite role where the pharmacist will work closely with specialty care clinics to optimize outcomes for specialty patients and improve the specialty pharmacy experience for patients and their caregivers. Relocation and a sign-on bonus are available.

Requirements

  • Leadership experience in a pharmacy, PIC experience preferred
  • Comfortable engaging with patients, providers, and all members of the care team both in-person and over the phone
  • Experience navigating specialty medication benefits investigation, prior authorization, and financial assistance
  • Proficient in some common pharmacy software systems (QS1, ComputerRx, PioneerRx, WAM, etc).
  • Knowledgeable about specialty medications, primarily in the Oncology space
  • Willingness to learn therapeutic areas you are not familiar with
  • Creative problem solver interested in positively impacting each patient’s pharmacy experience
  • Initiative taking individual contributor who can also promote teamwork and collaboration amongst colleagues
  • Highly organized, with excellent attention to detail, focused on delivering quality patient care, comprehensive documentation, and exceptional execution every day
  • Hold a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent advanced degree
  • Licensed as a pharmacist in State of Employment
  • Active, unrestricted pharmacist license must be eligible to become PIC in State of Employment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in EMR systems (EPIC, Cerner, NextGen, etc) or specialty pharmacy systems (Therigy, Asembia1, ScriptMed, etc)
  • Excited about working in a start-up environment and helping to build workflows and processes from the ground up
  • Excited about working as part of the care team, collaborating with providers, to improve specialty medication outcomes

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws, Board of Pharmacy regulations, DEA, and all other standards, as applicable
  • Serve as the designated Pharmacist-in-Charge with accountability for licensure, controlled substance oversight, and regulatory inspections
  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations to ensure accurate dispensing, patient safety, and adherence to clinical protocols
  • Maintain and enforce policies and procedures for prescription processing, drug storage, and security
  • Lead audits, maintain records, and coordinate responses for regulatory bodies and accrediting organizations
  • Supervise and train pharmacists, technicians, and support staff to ensure quality standards and continuing education compliance
  • Collaborate with providers and clinic staff to support coordinated patient care, including formulary optimization and medication access
  • Investigate and resolve medication incidents, ensuring proper documentation and continuous quality improvement
  • Ensure proper inventory management, including procurement, temperature-sensitive drug handling, and recall processes
  • Participate in strategic planning to support pharmacy growth, service line expansion, and value-based care initiatives
  • Act as the pharmacy’s clinical expert, supporting patient counseling, therapeutic substitution, and prior authorization reviews
  • Be the workflow expert in all aspects of the pharmacy from prescription received to dispensed
