Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, which includes the completion of 27 semester or 40 quarter hours in laboratory sciences (e.g., chemistry, biology, geology, physics, etc.).
Strong communication and time-management skills.

Nice To Haves

Entry-level level candidate or additional one-year experience equivalent at the lower level (EHS 2) candidate.

Responsibilities

Under direct supervision, the candidate will learn to evaluate programs for compliance with Georgia Environmental Health Regulations and perform public health inspections of the following: On-Site Sewage Management Systems, Animal Bite Investigations, Food Service Establishments, Public Swimming Pools, Tourist Accommodations, Body Art Studios.
Under direct supervision, candidate will respond to public health emergencies as requested.
All county public health employees are deemed essential in the event of an emergency and are required to participate in emergency functions.
May be required to provide support services as requested in the event of a public health emergency.
Job may include some interactions with homeowners, pets, pet owners, visits to the animal shelter and other commercial and residential properties.
Must be able to work in various climates both outdoor and indoor.
Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
Ability to bend, twist, stoop on a regular basis.
Work involves daily traveling within county for inspection duties.
Other duties as assigned.
