About The Position

The Learning Tree is seeking Paraprofessionals to support its Illinois Preschool for All (PFA) Program. The program aims to provide a nurturing environment trusted by parents, focusing on young children’s needs through age-appropriate educational activities in a fun, loving, and safe setting. The position assists teachers with classroom instruction, child supervision, records, and communication with families. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., and compensation is $20–$21 per hour.

Requirements

• Illinois Paraprofessional license or Professional Educators License.
• Physical ability to work around small children, including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.

Responsibilities

• Assist with classroom learning activities and maintain an orderly learning environment.
• Supervise children indoors and outdoors, including during bus duty, recess, field trips, classroom activities, and lunchroom activities.
• Maintain accurate records as assigned by the teacher.
• Assist with individual and small-group instruction in learning activities.
• Assist with parent communication while maintaining strict confidentiality of student records and data.
• Participate in professional development.
• Accompany the teacher on home visits as needed.
