Petroleum Tanker Driver
About The Position
Tanker truck drivers deliver gasoline and diesel products to convenience stores in Connecticut and nearby Massachusetts locations. Trucks operate 24/7. The employer seeks safety-conscious candidates interested in long-term employment. The position offers a starting rate of $30.00 per hour, possible sixth- and seventh-day incentive pay of $350.00, night-shift differential pay, and Daily Pay. Day shifts run from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; night shifts run from 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. The posting emphasizes night shifts. Benefits include medical and dental coverage, a 401(k), and vacation time. Applicants must have a clean driving record, a Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, and a current TWIC. They must be able to read tank charts, perform simple math, use an iPad to enter information electronically, and use an online web application for dispatching. Applicants must meet DOT medical requirements, participate in a drug and alcohol testing program, meet physical requirements, and provide a current motor vehicle driving history. Two years of gasoline hauling is preferred. Applicants are also asked to confirm authorization to work in the United States and willingness to undergo a background check.
Requirements
- Clean DMV record.
- Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
- Current TWIC.
- Ability to read and understand tank charts and perform simple math functions.
- Comfort using an iPad to enter information electronically and using an online web application for dispatching.
- Meet all DOT requirements regarding medical qualifications.
- Participate in a drug and alcohol testing program.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- Current motor vehicle driving history.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with local law and regulations.
