For the 2026-2027 recruiting season, Chevron is accepting online applications for entry-level Petroleum Engineers in potential locations including Houston, Texas; Midland, Texas; Greeley, Colorado; Minot, North Dakota; Covington, Louisiana; and Bakersfield, California. Petroleum Engineers at Chevron work within multi-disciplinary teams that can include geologists, geophysicists, facility engineers, drilling and completion engineers, data scientists, and software developers. The role involves developing technical skills in production and reservoir engineering, focusing on asset development planning, production operations, reserves, uncertainty and risk management, and capital project development. Entry-level engineers will be assigned to production and reservoir engineering positions and projects that add value to Chevron, with guidance from a supervisor and a technical mentor. Positions can be field or office-based. Chevron's competency-based employee development program for recent graduates typically includes two technical assignments in the first three years, supported by comprehensive technical training, mentoring, and on-the-job experience. Mobility is encouraged, with potential opportunities for assignments in various US locations. Petroleum Engineers may start in domestic Upstream operations or a Center of Excellence (COE), spending their initial 5-10 years in production and/or reservoir engineering roles. The position involves solving technically challenging problems using cutting-edge digital technologies and techniques.
