About The Position

Saskatoon Co-op is seeking a full-time Petroleum Driver to join their team. This role is responsible for delivering petroleum products to customers, providing excellent customer service, and assisting with operational duties when not delivering. The company is a member-owned business focused on serving its members and reinvesting profits locally, operating in various sectors including grocery, liquor, pharmacy, petroleum, home and building solutions, and agricultural supplies.

Requirements

  • Strongly service-oriented and motivated, capable of serving and assisting customers courteously and efficiently.
  • Willingness to increase product knowledge and improve selling techniques through special courses, product clinics, and training sessions.
  • Sufficient experience and knowledge of petroleum and agro products to effectively operate in all areas of the department.
  • Valid Class 1A driver's license with 3 years of related experience.
  • Safe driving record (Driver Abstract must be provided).
  • Mechanically inclined and capable of light maintenance work on delivery units.
  • Demonstrated ability to fulfill physical job requirements including lifting and unloading heavy objects and climbing ladders.
  • Ability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Ag and bulk petroleum products, equipment, farm hardware, and crop inputs to customers.
  • Provide information, assistance, and service to customers to promote sales and meet their needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of orders for delivery.
  • Collect payments for C.O.D. deliveries and account for payments daily.
  • Maintain a daily driver’s log of inventory and deliveries made as per TDG regulations.
  • Carry out end of day procedures and administrative requirements.
  • Be responsible for the care, appearance, and washing of the truck, and report required repairs to the supervisor.
  • Observe all safety precautions to minimize hazardous delivery and working conditions as per OH&S regulations.
  • Maintain a good standard of appearance and personal hygiene, wear provided uniforms, and use appropriate safety equipment.
  • Assist with operational and customer service duties at the appropriate Ag site manager when not delivering product.
  • Adhere to all Saskatoon Co-op Policy & Procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
