About The Position

Saskatoon Co-op is seeking a full-time Petroleum Driver to deliver Ag and bulk petroleum products to customers. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing deliveries and payments, maintaining logs, and ensuring the care and safety of the vehicle and work environment. The driver will also assist with operational duties at Ag sites when not delivering product and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Strongly service-oriented and motivated, capable of serving and assisting customers courteously and efficiently.
  • Prepared to increase product knowledge and improve selling techniques through special courses, product clinics, and training sessions.
  • Sufficient experience and knowledge of petroleum and agro products to effectively operate in all areas of the department.
  • Valid Class 1A license with 3 years of related experience.
  • Safe driving record; Driver Abstract must be provided.
  • Mechanically inclined and capable of light maintenance work on delivery units.
  • Demonstrated ability to fulfill physical job requirements, including lifting and unloading heavy objects and climbing ladders.
  • Ability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
  • May be required to undergo a background and substance test.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Ag and bulk petroleum products to customers, including petroleum products, equipment, farm hardware, and crop inputs.
  • Provide information, assistance, and service to customers to promote sales and meet their needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of orders for delivery.
  • Collect payments for C.O.D. deliveries and account for payments daily.
  • Maintain a daily driver’s log of inventory and deliveries made as per TDG regulations.
  • Carry out all necessary end-of-day procedures and administrative requirements.
  • Be responsible for the care, appearance, and washing of the truck, and report any required repairs to the supervisor.
  • Observe all safety precautions to minimize hazardous delivery and working conditions as per OH&S regulations.
  • Maintain a good standard of appearance and personal hygiene, obtain clean uniforms, and wear appropriate safety equipment.
  • Maintain a constant alert against the unauthorized removal of merchandise.
  • When not delivering product, report to the appropriate Ag site manager to assist with operational and customer service duties.
  • Adhere to all Saskatoon Co-op Policy & Procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
