About The Position

Nwestco LLC is seeking a Petroleum Construction Technician who can gather site information, work independently on small projects, and be a strong team player for larger projects. The role involves completing site walks, assisting with site preparation, operating hand tools and construction equipment, installing petroleum-related components, pouring and finishing concrete, loading/unloading materials, conducting testing and maintenance of fuel lines and tanks, performing site inspections, maintaining a safe work environment, supporting skilled tradespeople, and communicating effectively with team members.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Colorado Qualified Service Technician (QST) certification.
  • Previous experience in construction, petroleum systems, or mechanical/electrical services.
  • Strong physical stamina for tasks requiring lifting (up to 75 lbs), twisting, pulling, kneeling, and squatting.
  • Ability to operate construction tools and machinery.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong desire to learn quickly and adapt to new tasks.
  • A commitment to safety with knowledge of industry safety protocols.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical with extensive lifting (up to 75 lb), twisting, pulling, kneeling, and squatting.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug-screening and background check.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record over the past 5 years required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with fuel dispensers, pumps, hydraulic equipment, or in the petroleum construction industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Complete site walks and provide insights on construction projects.
  • Assist with site preparation, including setting up and removing structures and tools.
  • Operate hand tools and construction equipment.
  • Work independently and/or with a team to complete installation of drop tubes, risers, fuel lines, spill buckets, and other petroleum-related components.
  • Pour and finish small sections of concrete, including setting rebar.
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials.
  • Conduct testing, maintenance, and repair of petroleum fuel lines and tanks.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and customer requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment through daily site clean-up.
  • Support skilled tradespeople and follow safety procedures on the job site.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure tasks are completed.
