About The Position

The Pet Supplies Plus Clerk provides excellent customer service and processes and stocks products, builds displays, and handles customer orders in a friendly, accurate, and efficient manner. The role also assists with animal care, store upkeep, and other assigned activities. Position requirements may vary by store location, and management may change or add requirements at any time.

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Some locations may require Power Industrial Truck Certification.
• Ability to meet the physical demands described, including standing, using hands, reaching, communicating, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, and lifting or moving items up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to work around animals and occasional exposure to high places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical-shock risk, outside weather conditions, and moderate noise.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and ensure positive customer relations and satisfaction.
• Assist with the general care of all animals.
• Stock pet-supply deliveries and back stock, including building and filling displays.
• Scan products and process customer orders accurately, efficiently, and promptly.
• Process and be accountable for other services handled at the register.
• Handle all forms of tender and coupons properly.
• Perform fixed activities as assigned by the Store Director.
• Answer incoming phone calls using proper phone etiquette.
• Assist with store maintenance and cleaning on the sales floor and in the backroom.
• Follow all store and department policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
