About The Position

Mighty Pet is a local and family-owned and run pet shop seeking an upbeat, dependable evening leader to run the show a few nights a week and the occasional Saturday. This role is ideal for someone who loves animals, enjoys a lively retail environment, and wants to work somewhere that feels like family. The position involves managing the sales floor, leading a team of retail associates, handling customer service, and closing down the store. As experience grows, there will be opportunities to support inventory and ordering.

Requirements

Some retail, customer service, or team-lead experience
Comfort handling cash and running a POS system
A friendly, calm, can-do attitude
Confidence to run the store solo during your shift and make good calls on the fly
Reliability and flexibility — evenings, 2–3 days a week, plus the occasional Saturday
A soft spot for animals
Able to be on your feet for a shift and intermittent lifting up to 40 lbs

Responsibilities

Being the friendly face customers (and their pets) see when they walk in the door
Running the register and handling cashiering
Keeping an eye on the sales floor — stock, displays, and making sure everything looks its best
Leading and supporting the team of retail associates on shift, and being the go-to when questions pop up
Closing down the store each night — cash count, tidying up, restocking
Handling customer questions or hiccups with patience, a smile, and good judgment
Helping keep the store clean, safe, and welcoming for two-legged and four-legged visitors alike
Learning to support the management team with inventory, ordering and receiving orders
