About The Position
The Peaks Pet Nanny is hiring a Pet Nanny / Dog Walker to provide dog walking and pet-sitting services in clients’ homes in Randolph, Mendham, Rockaway, and Denville. Candidates must live within or very close to the service area because the role involves frequent local travel. The work is suited to people who enjoy being active outdoors and caring for pets. The role focuses on weekday, midday dog walks and pet-sitting visits in the morning, midday, evening, and at bedtime. Optional overnight care is available, along with weekend and holiday opportunities for additional pay. Pet Nannies work independently while receiving office support for scheduling, billing, customer service, and marketing. This is a 1099 independent-contractor position with compensation based on visit duration, plus possible tips and additional pay for weekends, holidays, and extra pets.
Requirements
- Must be at least 25 years old due to an insurance requirement.
- Live within or very close to Randolph, Mendham, Rockaway, or Denville.
- Have a reliable, insured vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
- Have access to a smartphone, computer, and printer.
- Be physically able to walk dogs of all sizes.
- Be comfortable working outdoors in all weather.
- Be dependable, trustworthy, and professional.
- Complete a background check and provide references.
- Have prior personal or professional pet-care experience.
Responsibilities
- Meet with clients for complimentary meet-and-greets.
- Follow customized pet-care instructions.
- Provide visit updates with photos and videos.
- Communicate clearly with the office, clients, and fellow Pet Nannies.
- Work independently while contributing positively to the team.
- Provide weekday dog walking, with a focus on midday visits.
- Provide pet-sitting visits in clients’ homes, including morning, midday, evening, and bedtime visits.
- Optionally provide overnight care.
