Pet Nanny / Dog Walker - Succasunna
About The Position
The Peaks Pet Nanny is seeking reliable, animal-loving people to provide pet sitting and dog walking in clients’ homes in Succasunna, Randolph, and Rockaway, New Jersey. Applicants should live within or very close to the service area because the role involves frequent local travel. The work includes weekday dog walking, with a midday focus, and pet-sitting visits in the morning, midday, evening, or at bedtime. Optional overnight care is available, and weekend and holiday work may be available for additional pay. The company has cared for pets and their families across Northern New Jersey since 2004 and describes itself as a supportive, award-winning team. It provides office support, scheduling and billing services, an online scheduling system, liability insurance, and bonding. Compensation is listed per visit: $15–$22 for 30 minutes, $22–$27 for 45 minutes, and $27 or more for 60 minutes; overnight care of 10–12 hours pays $77 or more. Tips and additional pay for weekends, holidays, and additional pets may also apply. This is a 1099 independent contractor role; contractors may deduct eligible work expenses at tax time.
Requirements
- Be at least 25 years old, as required by the company’s insurance.
- Live within or very close to the Succasunna, Randolph, and Rockaway, New Jersey service area.
- Have a reliable, insured vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
- Have access to a smartphone, computer, and printer.
- Be physically able to walk dogs of all sizes.
- Be comfortable working outdoors in all weather.
- Be dependable, trustworthy, and professional.
- Pass a background check and provide references.
- Have prior personal or professional pet-care experience.
Responsibilities
- Meet with clients for complimentary meet-and-greets.
- Follow customized pet-care instructions.
- Provide visit updates with photos or videos.
- Communicate clearly with the office, clients, and fellow Pet Nannies.
- Work independently while contributing as a positive team member.
- Provide dog walking and pet-sitting visits in clients’ homes.
- Provide optional overnight care, if selected.
