About The Position

Pet Food / Protein Laborers support Pilgrim’s Protein and Pet Food operations by operating machinery, performing manual labor, and supporting production processes in accordance with USDA and company standards. The role contributes to product quality, safety, and production efficiency. Workers may perform tasks in different production areas as needed and must follow company personnel, quality, safety, food safety, and animal welfare policies.

Requirements

• Ability to multitask and work quickly.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to comprehend simple instructions and apply common sense.
• Ability to work as part of a team and work close to other employees at some stations, less than three feet apart.
• Ability to work in cool temperatures around 40 degrees.
• Ability to stand and use hands for 8–11 hours per day.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Poultry or food industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery and perform manual labor tasks as assigned.
• Process poultry products using tools, manual labor, and equipment according to USDA and Pilgrim’s standards.
• Follow established procedures and meet quality and quantity expectations.
• Monitor equipment operation and promptly report malfunctions or safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow company personnel, quality, safety, food safety, and animal welfare policies and guidelines.
• Communicate and work effectively with team members, sharing knowledge and skills.
• Recognize safety risks and consistently practice and enforce safe work habits.
• Participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
• Perform tasks in different production areas as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet production and quality goals.
