About The Position
As a Pet Care Associate at Wooflands, you will deliver exceptional, personalized care to our guests’ canine companions within Nemacolin's premier doggy daycare facility. This role requires a passion for animal welfare, a commitment to safety, and the ability to uphold the highest standards of hospitality. You will create a nurturing, engaging, and impeccably clean environment that reflects the elevated experience our guests expect for both themselves and their pets.
Requirements
- Prior experience in animal care, dog daycare, veterinary assistance, or similar environment preferred
- Strong understanding of canine behavior and group play dynamics
- Ability to remain calm and decisive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a guest-first mindset
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 50 lbs), and engage in active play throughout the shift
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and peak resort seasons
- Must have willingness to learn.
- Have high energy level for hiking, playing with, and entertaining dogs and cats.
- Must be able to speak English.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, compassionate care and continuous supervision of dogs in daycare and boarding environments
- Monitor behavior, health, and activity levels to ensure safety and well-being
- Facilitate structured playgroups based on size, temperament, and energy level
- Identify and appropriately respond to signs of stress, illness, or conflict
- Deliver warm, professional interactions with pet owners, ensuring confidence and trust in our services
- Provide detailed updates to guests regarding their pet’s activities, behavior, and overall experience
- Anticipate guest and pet needs, creating personalized and memorable experiences
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness and sanitation standards in all pet care areas
- Adhere to strict health, safety, and sanitation protocols
- Assist with feeding, medication administration (as directed), and grooming coordination
- Support daily operational tasks including check-in/check-out procedures
- Follow all resort policies, animal safety protocols, and emergency procedures
- Ensure proper handling techniques and safe interaction between animals
- Maintain accurate records of pet care activities, incidents, and special instructions
