About The Position

As a Pet Care Associate at Wooflands McMurray, you will deliver exceptional, personalized care to our guests’ canine companions within Nemacolin's premier doggy daycare facility. This role requires a passion for animal welfare, a commitment to safety, and the ability to uphold the highest standards of hospitality. You will create a nurturing, engaging, and impeccably clean environment that reflects the elevated experience our guests expect for both themselves and their pets.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of canine behavior and group play dynamics
  • Ability to remain calm and decisive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a guest-first mindset
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 50 lbs), and engage in active play throughout the shift
  • Must have willingness to learn.
  • Have high energy level for hiking, playing with, and entertaining dogs and cats.
  • Must be able to speak English.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in animal care, dog daycare, veterinary assistance, or similar environment preferred
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and peak resort seasons

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, compassionate care and continuous supervision of dogs in daycare and boarding environments
  • Monitor behavior, health, and activity levels to ensure safety and well-being
  • Facilitate structured playgroups based on size, temperament, and energy level
  • Identify and appropriately respond to signs of stress, illness, or conflict
  • Deliver warm, professional interactions with pet owners, ensuring confidence and trust in our services
  • Provide detailed updates to guests regarding their pet’s activities, behavior, and overall experience
  • Anticipate guest and pet needs, creating personalized and memorable experiences
  • Maintain impeccable cleanliness and sanitation standards in all pet care areas
  • Adhere to strict health, safety, and sanitation protocols
  • Assist with feeding, medication administration (as directed), and grooming coordination
  • Support daily operational tasks including check-in/check-out procedures
  • Follow all resort policies, animal safety protocols, and emergency procedures
  • Ensure proper handling techniques and safe interaction between animals
  • Maintain accurate records of pet care activities, incidents, and special instructions
