About The Position

This role is responsible for daily personnel scheduling to ensure adequate staffing for production needs. The Personnel Scheduler works closely with Production Schedulers and Supervisors to determine daily staffing requirements, ensuring all employees have a "value added" assignment. This position involves coordinating personnel assignments, managing reassignments based on production demands, facilitating early departures when lines go down, and coordinating shift exchanges. The scheduler is also responsible for communicating staffing changes, providing daily production schedules, maintaining a Skills Matrix for training and safety, handling employee inquiries, ensuring accurate timekeeping and cost center allocation, and coordinating with various departments while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Requirements

  • High School or GED required
  • Six months to one-year related experience in manufacturing or an office administrative role

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Production Scheduler and Production Supervisors to determine the amount of staffing required for the next day's production, ensuring all employees have a "value added" assignment.
  • Coordinate personnel assignments when production and personnel changes happen throughout the shift.
  • Reassign personnel based on production demands and personnel needs.
  • Facilitate the early departure of employees when lines go down, according to employee handbook guidelines.
  • Coordinate shift exchange with oncoming personnel schedulers and plant leadership to communicate staffing changes.
  • Schedule employees for the next day's production by referencing work orders for correct staffing requirements and considering employee seniority, skill, and ability to various line positions.
  • Provide schedule for next day's production to specified supervisors and post daily.
  • Maintain Skills Matrix for training needed to ensure employee skills are up to date.
  • Use the Skills Matrix to ensure employees are not working in the same position/rotation to support employee safety and ergonomics.
  • Take calls from employees to inform them of their scheduling status and answer questions and concerns.
  • Ensure accounting accuracy by tracking and adjusting employee's clocking into the correct cost center for their line assignment or activity and when transferring to different positions/departments.
  • Coordinate and communicate with Production Leadership, Employee Experience Team, and employees on a variety of issues.
  • Manage strict confidential information with the highest integrity and accuracy.
  • Ensure all procedures are consistently done according to established policies and procedures.
