Personal Support Worker
About The Position
This is a part-time, regular position within the Oncology, Medical & Palliative Unit. The role requires a Personal Support Worker Certificate and current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate, along with Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training. The position involves working days and evenings. Candidates will be selected based on their skills, abilities, experience, and competencies outlined in their resume or application form. The hospital may conduct a formal interview as needed. This posting is for a vacant position. Requirements
- Minimum of a Personal Support Worker Certificate from an accredited college or equivalent.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate is required.
- Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required.
- Minimum of six (6) months of experience working as a Personal Support Worker in a hospital setting.
- Demonstrated interpersonal / communication skills.
- Must undergo a criminal record check for vulnerable sector screening.
Nice To Haves
- Current certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) and Gentle Persuasion Approaches to DementiaCare (GPA) are assets.
Responsibilities
