About The Position

The ECF Personal Support Staff will provide assistance in the home with bathing, dressing, feeding, and other activities of daily living including some assistance with household cleaning and the maintenance of a safe home.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-5 years of private duty, home health, or facility experience required.
  • Ability to build rapport with members, employees, and all other benefactors.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Extensive organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer and internet literacy with the ability to utilize applications like emails, time recording and other programs to enter and retrieve data as necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Two years of experience working with individuals with IDD and/or Mental Health issues
  • Understanding of trauma, trauma-informed care, and the creation of trauma-informed environments
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Subject to employment clearances, including FBI clearance, if applicable.
  • Current driver’s license, driver registration and a functional vehicle
  • Telephone: Cellular - Multi-line, Calculator, Copier, Fax, Computer
  • Has knowledge of each program
  • Knowledge of Office software programs
  • Individual must be able to meet physical requirements of the job: Sitting at a meeting table or desk – Reaching – Lifting exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects - Bending – Standing – Stooping – Twisting - Climbing steps - Driving a vehicle

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate respect for Recipient and their family
  • Personal Support Staff is responsible for providing personal care assistance to the Recipient in accordance with the Division of Intellectual Disabilities.
  • The Personal Support Staff will assist the Recipient with all services authorized by the plan of care.
  • Maintain documentation for the Recipient’s objectives according to the plan of care
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Effective Communication: Ability to clearly and respectfully communicate with residents, families, staff, and external agencies. Demonstrates active listening and ensures transparency in all interactions.
  • Ethical Practice: Upholds confidentiality, integrity, and ethical standards in all interactions and decisions, ensuring the rights and dignity of residents are prioritized.
  • Leadership and Accountability: Provides clear direction to staff, models positive behaviors, and takes responsibility for the success of the residential program. Holds self and team members accountable for meeting expectations and standards.
  • Collaboration: Works collaboratively with other professionals, families, and community partners to ensure quality care and services are provided to residents.

  • Adherence to Policies and Procedures: Ensures compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards, maintaining a safe, respectful, and efficient residential environment.
  • ADHERE TO AND FOLLOW The By-Laws of the Corporation and as set forth in the Articles of Incorporation
  • Maintain and abides by OSHA requirements and guidelines
  • Observes all Fire and Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Observes all Fiscal/Office/ HR Personnel Policies and Procedures
  • Observes all HIPAA Policies and Procedures and maintains confidentiality
  • Attends all required and scheduled trainings and meetings
  • Always maintain a professional demeanor and exercise good judgement in all areas of employment duties
