About The Position

Westgate, an affiliate of National Health Care Associates, is seeking a compassionate Personal Support Specialist to provide hands-on, non-medical assistance and emotional support to residents. The role supports residents with daily activities, helps foster a warm and nurturing environment, and contributes observations and input to individualized care plans. Requirements

Nice To Haves

PCA/PSS certification or equivalent; educational opportunities to obtain certification are provided.
Direct care experience.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with non-medical activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
Plan and prepare meals and assist with feeding as required.
Provide medication reminders.
Build meaningful connections with residents by offering emotional support, companionship, and a listening ear.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on resident care plans and provide input on individualized care needs.
Monitor resident safety and well-being, and promptly report concerns or changes in health status.
Maintain accurate, detailed records of care provided and observations to contribute to assessments of resident needs.
