About The Position

Woodhaven Retirement Community is seeking a dedicated and caring Personal Service Attendant to support residents at its Livonia, Michigan retirement community. The role provides personalized care, assists with daily living activities, and supports residents’ physical and emotional well-being. The attendant helps create a safe, comfortable environment and builds respectful, meaningful relationships with residents, families, and staff.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Compassionate, patient, and empathetic attitude toward seniors.
Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents as needed.
Strong communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
Background check and references required.

Nice To Haves

Previous caregiving experience, especially in a retirement community or healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Help residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning to support safety and comfort.
Engage residents in conversations and recreational activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
Monitor residents for changes in condition and report concerns to the healthcare team.
Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment.
Protect residents’ confidentiality and respect their rights, dignity, and preferences.
Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
