About The Position

Clay County Missouri has an opening at our annex in Kansas City, MO for a Personal Property Technician. The Personal Property Technician, following Missouri state statutes and established appraisal techniques, will converse with taxpayers in person or by telephone to create/edit/change/delete existing records, apply tax entity codes, examine and verify taxpayers’ forms and related documents, and apply penalties.

Requirements

• Proficient in MS Office applications
• Flexibility to adjust to procedural changes as they occur
• Mathematically inclined
• Can communicate clearly and concisely
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including basic Excel report formatting
• Legally licensed and insured to drive a motor vehicle

Responsibilities

• Converse with taxpayers in person or by telephone to create/edit/change/delete existing records
• Apply tax entity codes
• Examine and verify taxpayers’ forms and related documents
• Apply penalties
