About The Position

Leavitt Group Texas Select is seeking a Personal Lines Sales and Service Agent for their Houston office. This role provides support to customers and internal sales staff for all Personal Lines Insurance business. Responsibilities include developing new accounts, quoting new business, maintaining and cross-selling existing accounts, and forwarding submissions to carriers. Customer service duties involve discussing and recommending coverage, processing policy changes, taking claims information, verifying account details, answering questions, and generating necessary documents.

Requirements

  • Property and Casualty License
  • Strong sales skills required
  • 2-3 years Agency experience
  • Excellent communication skills; verbally and written.
  • Detail oriented and able to maintain compliance standards.
  • Must be dependable, provide timely response, and complete of work activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the AMS 360 is a plus
  • Bilingual is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Accurately maintain all customer information in the computer system (AMS360).
  • Know the various company products, underwriting requirements, binding authority, policy forms, rating software programs (upload & download), and competitiveness in the marketplace.
  • Service all existing personal lines accounts by speaking with customers and company personnel, responding to correspondence, answering coverage questions, recommending coverage, processing policy changes, taking claim information, collecting premiums, submitting proper documents to the company, and verifying accuracy of received documents.
  • Issue proper insurance verification documents to the insured (auto id, certificates, etc.).
  • Resolve customer problems & complaints (with assistance/direction from manager as needed).
  • Follow up on policies that cancel.
  • Assist with the collection of premiums and reconciliation of accounts as needed.
  • Retain renewal business by contacting insureds to review coverage.
  • Review current underwriting information to qualify customers for improved programs and monitor renewal premiums for excessive increases.
  • Develop existing accounts by attempting to provide additional coverage or adding additional lines of business (cross-sell).
  • Assist the agency in developing new business by providing accurate quotes, preparing proposals, completing company required forms and requests, submitting account information to the company, providing the customer with appropriate documentation, and verifying documents received from the company are accurate.
  • Process daily download from carriers, print appropriate reports, and verify download policy information is accurate.
  • Provide manager with monthly “renewal account retention report.”
  • Provide company product, coverage, and rate training to other agency personnel as needed.
  • Assist with the development of recommended coverage for customers.
  • Meet with Company marketing representatives to learn of new products or changes.
  • Assist with answering phones and other general office duties as may be required.
  • Promote and enhance the reputation of the agency.
