About The Position

A detail-oriented and results-driven Personal Lines Binding Production Underwriter is needed to evaluate, select, negotiate, and manage personal lines binding production accounts while building and maintaining strong relationships with agency partners. This role involves leveraging analytical skills and underwriting expertise to contribute to the success and profitability of the company.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of underwriting experience, specifically in personal lines and binding authority products.
  • Strong understanding of underwriting principles, risk assessment, and market conditions in the personal lines insurance space.
  • Proficiency with underwriting systems, analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in insurance, business, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Professional designation such as CIC, CPCU, or AU preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and analyze risk submissions from agency partners to determine appropriate coverage, terms, and pricing for personal lines binding products.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with agency partners to drive growth and retain profitable underwriting accounts.
  • Review binding authority guidelines to ensure compliance with company policies, state regulations, and agency agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including claims, actuary, and inspection teams, to assess risks and make informed underwriting decisions.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, identify trends, and implement actions to ensure profitability and long-term account success.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to agents to enhance underwriting results and improve agent productivity.
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes impacting underwriting processes and strategies.
  • Participate in training and mentoring opportunities to support the professional development of junior team members.
  • Contribute to initiatives focused on process improvement, automation, and efficiency within the underwriting division.
