About The Position
A well-established plaintiff’s personal injury firm is seeking an attorney to join its pre-litigation department. The attorney will manage a personal injury caseload from intake through resolution, handling cases before suit is filed and working toward strong pre-suit settlements. The role involves collaborating with case managers and paralegals, advising clients, and referring cases to litigation when a fair resolution cannot be reached. Compensation is $115,000–$135,000 base salary plus 5% of fees, with no threshold and no other fees.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active bar license in good standing.
- Experience in plaintiff-side personal injury.
- Strong negotiation, writing, and client communication skills.
- Organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload.
Nice To Haves
- Pre-litigation negotiation experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage a docket of personal injury cases before suit is filed.
- Evaluate liability and damages and build case value.
- Prepare and send demand packages.
- Negotiate with insurance carriers to pursue strong pre-suit settlements.
- Work with case managers and paralegals to keep cases moving.
- Advise clients and keep them informed at every stage.
- Refer cases into litigation when a fair resolution cannot be reached.
