About The Position
The Licensed Group Home is responsible for providing guidance, support and supervision for individuals with Cognitive, Mental and Physical Disabilities that require 24/7 care. Working 12-hour shifts with a rotating schedule, Personal Care Workers support and supervise individuals with physical abilities; use a team approach to plan, organize and supervise daily activities; prepare and serve meals as planned; administer prescribed medications.
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12
- Certified First Aide & CPR and Safe Food Handling Certificate required or willing to obtain
Nice To Haves
- Personal Care Worker, Continuing Care Aide or Home Health Aide Certificate or equivalent is preferred
- Previous home care or childcare experience is preferred
- Experience working with First Nations Communities is an asset
- Valid Driver’s License preferred
Responsibilities
- Support and supervise individuals with physical disabilities
- Use a team approach to plan, organize and supervise daily activities, recreational and other services
- Prepare and serve meals as planned
- Assess needs of residents on an on-going basis
- Maintain sanitation of Group Home
- 12- hour shift with rotating schedule
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
