About The Position

The Personal Care Team Lead is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operations of the personal care program in accordance with local, state, and federal standards and regulations. This role involves managing personal care staff, handling office duties, and being responsible for marketing and growth of the assigned area. The Team Lead interprets and communicates policies, monitors staff practices, and participates in admission decisions and in-person admissions. Key responsibilities include managing visits with nurse assessments, recertifications, authorizations, billing, payroll tasks, and Medicaid eligibility verification. The position also involves participating in weekly management team meetings, scheduling and preparing monthly employee staff meetings for continuing education and team building, evaluating work performance, and implementing discipline. Ensuring compassionate quality care and optimal client satisfaction through supervision of aides is crucial. The role includes overseeing schedules, communicating changes, participating in recruitment, hiring, and termination, conducting new hire orientation, and performing in-service education. Promoting teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communication is essential. The Team Lead may provide direct aide care as necessary and must treat all clients with dignity and respect. They may also take on aide responsibilities during staffing shortages and must maintain a professional appearance.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, organizing, developing and directing overall operations of the personal care program.
  • Manage personal care staff along with office duties.
  • Responsible for marketing and growth of assigned area.
  • Interprets and communicates policies and procedures to staff, and monitors staff practices and implementation.
  • Participates in admission decisions and performing in-person admissions.
  • Manage visits with nurse assessments as well recertifications which includes authorizations, billing, payroll tasks and verification of Medicaid eligibility.
  • Participates in weekly management team meetings to discuss census changes, policy changes, complaints and concerns and relays information to aides.
  • Schedule and prepare monthly employee staff meetings to discuss any issues and provide continuing education and team building with the aides.
  • Evaluates work performance of all aide personnel and implements discipline according to operational policies.
  • Ensures delivery of compassionate quality care and supervision of aides in maintaining optimal client satisfaction.
  • Oversees schedules and communicates changes with patients and staff.
  • Participates in the recruitment, hiring and termination of staff which includes new hire orientation and onboarding follow up with HR.
  • Performs in-service education to ensure staff is competent in current knowledge and skills.
  • Promotes teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communication.
  • May provide direct aide care as necessary.
  • Treats all clients with dignity and respect.
  • Take on responsibility of an aide when there are staffing shortages.
  • Must always maintain a professional appearance (clean professional clothing, shoes not slippers or flip flops).
