About The Position

Gail’s Homecare is a non-medical, in-home care provider based in Lithonia, Georgia. The Personal Care Assistant works with clients in their homes, assisting with basic personal hygiene and domestic tasks according to clients’ needs and limitations. The role includes providing compassionate care and documenting clients’ progress to support their overall well-being.

The position is in Woodstock, Georgia, and the listed schedule is Tuesday and Thursday, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Pay is $13 per hour.

Requirements

• CPR/BLS and First Aid are required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of full-time professional experience in a healthcare setting is required.
• Mastery of written and spoken English.
• Good communication and conversational skills.
• Ability to work under close supervision to ensure competence in providing client care.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, help move clients, and perform physical tasks.
• Patience and ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
• Willingness to perform domestic and personal tasks requested by the client.
• Promptness and reliability.
• Warm and caring personality.
• Commitment to treating clients with dignity and respect.
• Driver’s license or state-issued ID.
• PCA certification.
• Current CPR card.
• TB results.
• Social Security card.
• Vaccination card.
• Existing fingerprinting background check.

Nice To Haves

• Three to five years of professional healthcare experience is strongly preferred.
• Significant experience working in a home health care environment is strongly preferred.
• Experience in domestic work or housekeeping is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with basic personal hygiene and domestic tasks according to their needs and limitations.
• Provide compassionate care and assistance to clients in their homes.
• Document clients’ progress to help ensure their overall well-being.
• Attend eight hours of personal care-oriented services per year.
• Participate in professional meetings when directed.
• Comply with applicable legal and institutional requirements and guidelines.
