Personal Care Assistant – Granbury, TX
About The Position
Comfort Keepers is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and attentive caregiver to provide personalized in-home support for a senior client in Granbury, Texas. The client values her independence and would benefit from assistance that respects her preferences and encourages her to safely continue doing what she can manage on her own. The caregiver should be patient, observant, and comfortable supporting a senior with occasional memory difficulties and daily routines. Following a recent fall, personal care assistance has been added to the care plan. The role includes helping maintain a safe and comfortable home while supporting the client's independence, mobility, and overall well-being. The schedule is Tuesday from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM; Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM; and Friday and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Applicants must be available for the scheduled shifts, including both morning and evening shifts on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Care is provided at the client's home in Granbury, Texas 76048. Compensation is $15.50–$17.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Support includes paid training and orientation, biweekly pay through direct deposit, an employee referral program, and support from the office and scheduling team. Additional assignments may be available.
Requirements
- Experience assisting seniors with personal care and daily living activities.
- Patience and understanding when working with clients who experience short-term memory difficulties.
- Ability to encourage independence while recognizing when assistance is needed.
- Valid driver's license.
- Reliable transportation and current auto insurance.
- Ability to assist with safe mobility and follow care instructions.
- Strong observation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, compassionate, and safety-conscious approach to caregiving.
- Willingness to complete required training and onboarding.
- Comfort working in a home environment where chickens are present.
- Availability for the scheduled shifts, including morning and evening shifts on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.

- At least one year of professional caregiving experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance based on the client's individualized care plan.
- Assist with personal care and activities of daily living as needed.
- Encourage independence and respect the client's routines and preferences.
- Check on the client periodically to help ensure safety, rather than providing continuous standby monitoring when it is not needed.
- Provide appropriate mobility assistance and help reduce fall risks.
- Remind and assist the client with physical therapist-prescribed exercises during evening shifts, as directed by the care plan.
- Prepare meals and encourage regular hydration.
- Provide medication reminders in accordance with agency policies and the care plan.
- Perform light housekeeping to maintain a clean and comfortable home.
- Offer companionship and engage the client in meaningful daily activities.
- Assist with outdoor walks and activities when appropriate and safe.
- Provide transportation to appointments, errands, and outings as needed.
- Help the client maintain her usual routines, including activities around the home where chickens are kept.
- Observe and report changes in the client's condition, memory, mobility, or safety to the appropriate care team.
