About The Position

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) role is crucial in providing meaningful relationships with clients, aiming to brighten their day and offer support. This position involves assisting seniors and adults with disabilities in their homes. The role requires a compassionate individual who can provide companionship, assist with homemaking activities, and prepare meals. The company emphasizes a positive work environment and provides necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) for caring for a vulnerable population.

Requirements

  • High school degree and/or a G.E.D. certificate.
  • Sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick.
  • Ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Ability to lift at least 150 lbs with a gait belt.
  • Current and valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a vehicle in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Negative TB test or ability to acquire one.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting clients with homemaking activities, such as vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, laundry, and cleaning bathrooms.
  • Spending less than 20% of work time on general household work during each shift.
  • Providing companionship during activities such as accompanying clients on walks, trips to social/recreational activities, and assisting with hobbies.
  • Preparing meals and grocery shopping for clients.
  • Caring for seniors and adults with disabilities.
