About The Position

As a Personal Care Assistant, you’ll do work that matters and sometimes in ways nobody else sees, but your student will never forget. You’ll be right there to help them stay focused in class, cheering them on as they tackle assignments and master new skills. When life’s basics get tough—like eating, dressing, or just feeling comfortable in their own skin—you’ll be the steady, respectful support that helps them through.

Requirements

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have and maintain a current child First Aid/CPR certification.
Must be or be willing to become trained in maintaining an ACCESS log.
Must have the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
All required clearances must comply with the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s mandated criteria for hire.

Experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

Help student stay focused in class.
Assist student with assignments and mastering new skills.
Provide steady, respectful support for life's basics such as eating, dressing, or feeling comfortable.
Ensure student feels safe, respected, and understood.
Help student complete class assignments.
Make life skills less intimidating for the student.
Facilitate smoother transitions.
Ensure seamless communication.
Meet behavioral challenges with patience and redirection.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Move throughout the school with the student, assisting in classrooms, hallways, and common areas.
Interact with teachers, staff, and sometimes families.
Create a safe, supportive space for the student.
