About The Position

Livingston Place at Southern Ave. is a Washington, DC Assisted Living Community committed to providing affordable, personalized care to aging and disabled residents. The community is managed by Calvary Street Management, a Gilbane Development Co. property. Livingston Place Assisted Living is currently seeking compassionate, professional, and experienced Personal Care Aides (DC-Certified Nursing Assistant or DC-Home Health Aide licenses) to join our team. In this role, Personal Care Aides are responsible for delivering high-quality care and support, ensuring each resident’s comfort, dignity, and overall well-being. Ideal candidates demonstrate kindness, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. This position requires a strong understanding of, and commitment to, the principles and values of our community. Successful candidates will have a caring nature, a respectful approach, and a genuine willingness to support and care for elderly residents. PRN Shifts Available: Day Shifts (7:00 A - 3:30 P), Evening Shifts (3:00 P - 11:30 P), Overnight Shifts (11 P - 7:30 A).

Requirements

  • High school degree
  • Current CNA or Home Health Certification from Washington DC
  • Valid and current CPR/First Aid Certified
  • Ability to complete a Health Certificate, including TB test and Physical.
  • Proficiency in English required
  • Has familiarity and willingness to work with the elderly population

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of relevant experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assists with all of the care needs a resident might require
  • Maintains confidentiality of resident and fellow employee’s information
  • Notifies the nurse on duty, Director of Nursing, or Executive Director of resident changes of condition.
  • Assists in the dining room during meal times including, but not limited to, set up, take meal/beverage orders, serve, bus tables
  • Assists with activities when required and/or be responsible for getting the residents to scheduled activities
  • Responsible for getting residents ready and to the lobby for scheduled appointments
  • Will be aware of what constitutes a change of condition and report to Licensed Nurse, Assistant Director of Nursing and/or Director of Nursing immediately
  • Capable of taking accurate vital signs and weights
  • Capable of assisting in-care needs of residents, which might include lifting requirements up to 40 pounds
  • Keeps current on First Aid/CPR
  • Attend and participate in the scheduled mandatory in-services and other scheduled meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or any other management staff
