About The Position

The Personal Banker SAFE Act is an entry-level position that assists with sales, product, and service activities in coordination with the customer service team. The role focuses on building customer loyalty and increasing sales to individual consumer clients. The position also supports small-business banking through lending referrals, business development, and sales planning. This job description provides a high-level review of the work performed; other job-related duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• NMLS registration and compliance with the SAFE Act.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous banking, retail, or sales experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of Smart Banking tools and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Work with business credit requests under $250,000, recognize and refer larger lending opportunities, and cross-sell treasury and related small-business products.
• Build referral business opportunities through Centers of Influence (COIs) and the Member Get Member (MGM) Program.
• Assist with strategies to grow the small-business client base and implement sales plans targeting Book of Business customers.
• Deliver client services and make outbound and inbound calls to acquire new relationships and deepen existing ones through relevant cross-selling while providing a remarkable client experience.
• Coach and guide tellers and other branch staff on products and special programs, identifying client needs, and providing appropriate referrals.
• Recognize clients' transaction needs, educate them on service and digital channels, use available technology and marketing tools to uncover opportunities, and present product offers and financial solutions.
• Understand and comply with Citibank policies, standards, and procedures.
• Assess risk in business decisions, protect the firm's reputation and the assets of Citigroup and its clients, comply with applicable laws and policies, exercise sound ethical judgment, and transparently escalate, manage, and report control issues.
