About The Position

The Personal Banker SAFE Act is an entry-level position responsible for assisting with sales, product, and service activities in coordination with the customer service team. The role focuses on building customer loyalty and increasing sales to individual consumer clients. The position also supports small-business clients and lending opportunities, develops referral business, delivers client service, and helps branch staff identify customer needs and make appropriate referrals. Employees must comply with Citi policies and procedures and appropriately assess and escalate risk.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• NMLS registration and SAFE Act compliance.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree/university degree or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

• Previous banking, retail, or sales experience.
• Knowledge of Smart Banking tools and technologies.
• Bilingual English/Spanish speaking ability is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with business credit requests below $250,000, recognize and refer larger lending opportunities, and cross-sell treasury and related small-business products.
• Build referral business opportunities through Centers of Influence (COIs) and the Member Get Member (MGM) Program.
• Assist with strategies to grow the small-business client base and implement sales plans targeting Book of Business customers.
• Deliver client services and make outbound and inbound calls to acquire new relationships and deepen existing relationships through cross-selling relevant products and services while providing a remarkable client experience.
• Coach and guide Tellers and other branch staff on products and special programs, identifying client needs, and providing appropriate referrals.
• Recognize clients’ transaction needs, educate them about service and digital channels, use available technology and marketing tools to uncover opportunities, and present product offers and financial solutions.
• Understand and comply with Citibank policies, standards, and procedures.
• Assess risk in business decisions, safeguard the firm’s reputation and the assets of Citigroup and its clients, comply with applicable laws and policies, apply sound ethical judgment, and transparently escalate, manage, and report control issues.
