About The Position

The Personal Banker SAFE Act is an entry-level position that assists with sales, products, and service activities in coordination with the customer service team. The role focuses on building customer loyalty and increasing sales to individual consumer clients. The position also supports small-business clients through lending-related requests, referrals, and sales strategies. Other job-related duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• NMLS registration and SAFE Act compliance.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree/university degree or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

• Previous banking, retail, or sales experience.
• Knowledge of Smart Banking tools and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Work with business credit requests under $250,000, refer larger lending opportunities, and cross-sell treasury and related small-business products.
• Build referral opportunities through Centers of Influence (COIs) and the Member Get Member (MGM) Program.
• Support strategies to grow the small-business client base and implement sales plans for Book of Business customers.
• Make outbound and handle inbound calls and deliver client services to acquire new relationships and deepen existing ones through relevant cross-selling and a remarkable client experience.
• Coach and guide tellers and other branch staff on products and special programs, identifying client needs, and making appropriate referrals.
• Recognize clients’ transaction needs, explain service and digital channels, use available technology and marketing tools to identify opportunities, and present product offers and financial solutions.
• Understand and comply with Citibank policies, standards, and procedures.
• Assess risk in business decisions, protect the firm’s reputation and assets, comply with applicable laws and policies, apply sound ethical judgment, and transparently escalate, manage, and report control issues.
