About The Position

The Personal Banker SAFE Act is an entry-level position responsible for assisting with sales, products, and service activities in coordination with the customer service team. The role aims to foster customer relationships, build loyalty, and increase sales to individual consumer clients. The position also supports small-business banking by handling business credit requests under $250,000, identifying larger lending opportunities for referral, and promoting related products and services. Other job-related duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of Smart Banking tools and technologies.
• NMLS registration and SAFE Act compliance.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree, university degree, or equivalent experience.

• Previous banking, retail, or sales experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with business credit requests under $250,000, refer larger lending opportunities, and cross-sell treasury and related small-business products.
• Build referral business through Centers of Influence (COIs) and the Member Get Member (MGM) Program.
• Help develop strategies to grow the small-business client base and implement sales plans for targeted Book of Business customers.
• Deliver client services and handle outbound and inbound calls to acquire new relationships and deepen existing ones through relevant cross-selling and a remarkable client experience.
• Coach and guide Tellers and other branch staff on products, special programs, identifying client needs, and making appropriate referrals.
• Recognize clients’ transaction needs, educate them about service and digital channels, use available technology and marketing tools to identify opportunities, and present product offers and financial solutions.
• Understand and comply with Citibank policies, standards, and procedures.
• Assess risk appropriately in business decisions, protect the firm's reputation and the assets of Citigroup and its clients, comply with applicable laws and policies, exercise sound ethical judgment, and transparently escalate, manage, and report control issues.
