Personal Assistant/Companionship Caregivers Needed
About The Position
TheKey is seeking compassionate Personal Assistant/Companionship Caregivers to provide 1:1 support to aging seniors in the San Mateo, Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and Woodside areas. This role involves blending meaningful companionship with practical personal assistant duties in the client’s home and community. TheKey is the largest provider of private pay in-home care for aging seniors in North America and is an Employer of Choice, offering dedicated local support to its caregivers. This is a part-time role with opportunities for growth into memory care as client needs evolve.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- HCA Registration with the State of California (we can help you obtain this upon hire) including meeting state background requirements
- Valid driver’s license, with access to a fully insured personal vehicle
- TB Clearance or Chest X-Ray
- Caregivers must comply with state background screening requirements and must be eligible to work in the US.
- Timely and accurate positive fingerprint identification of applicants as a condition of employment.

- Weekend availability is highly preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly companionship, conversation, games, puzzles, and emotional support.
- Accompany clients to social events, stores, outings, and appointments.
- Help organize calendars, schedule appointments, make plans and follow through, run errands, and assist with grocery shopping.
- Perform basic cleaning, laundry, organizing, and other tasks to help keep the household running smoothly.
- Drive clients safely to appointments, social activities, stores, and errands (valid driver’s license and auto insurance required).
- Provide light transfer and mobility assistance as needed.
- Act as a reliable point of contact with excellent communication skills to coordinate with family members and other care team members.
