JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: Under supervision of the Permit Technician Supervisor, the Permit Technician is responsible for performing technical and administrative support related to processing of building and other development-related permits for the Building Safety Division. This position serves as the primary point of contact for the public, contractors and design professionals, ensuring that permit applications are complete, accurate and processed in accordance with applicable building codes, supplements and procedures. About the Building Safety Division: The Building Safety Division works hard to provide Jefferson County citizens, contractors, engineers and architects customer service in the field of building permits, plan review and inspections. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build their knowledge in this industry, network with internal and external customers, all while receiving the support of a knowledgeable team willing to provide guidance and assistance . The Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate thrives in a front-facing, client-focused environment and provides clerical and general customer service support. This individual will have a construction or development background with a basic understanding of the permitting process and the ability to guide and advise customers about the various stages of the process. The successful candidate handles sensitive and confidential information and situations, demonstrating poise, tact and diplomacy with a positive attitude and nonjudgmental manner. This person must be innovative, dependable and relentlessly detail-oriented . The candidate must also have the proven ability to quickly move between diverse tasks with ease, and must thrive in a deadline-driven, professional environment. SCHEDULE: This position operates on our four-day work week (Monday-Thursday). This position is hybrid, with remote work and in-office work as needed once a training period has been completed . COMPENSATION: Total Base Pay Range: 24.56 - 30.70 - 36.84 USD Hourly Compensation will be determined based on education, experience and skills.
